Content Policy — ShimmerPic

What ShimmerPic will not generate, how requests are screened, what happens after a rejection, and how to report or appeal.

Last updated: 2026-09-18

ShimmerPic makes product, brand and creative images. This page says what we refuse, how we check, what a refusal costs, and how to reach a person. It applies to every prompt, every reference photo and every result.

What we will not make

  • Sexual content involving anyone under 18, real or synthetic, including requests for it. This is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and the account is closed permanently.
  • Nude or sexual imagery of a real, identifiable person without their consent, including undressing, "swapping", or placing someone from a photo into a sexual scene.
  • Explicit nudity and pornographic content of any kind.
  • Content that harasses or demeans a person or group, including on the basis of disability, ethnicity, religion, age or body, or that depicts someone as coerced or unwilling.
  • Synthetic likenesses made to pass as a real person's identity document, or to deceive about who someone is.
  • Anything illegal where you are or where we are, and anything that violates our providers' usage policies.

Ordinary swimwear in a product shot, family photos, fashion, art and medical illustration are fine. When a request is ambiguous we err on the side of refusing; you can appeal.

How requests are checked

Every upload is screened before it is stored. Every generation request — the prompt together with every reference photo — is screened before it is sent to the model, and the result is screened again before it reaches your library. The model provider runs its own checks as well. Screening is automated; a person only looks at a request when it falls into the two most serious categories above or when you appeal.

What a refusal costs

  • A request refused on content keeps its credits, whether it was refused before submission, by the provider, or after a result came back. A refusal at our own gate before submission is charged at the lowest tier for that request (the base 1K price plus the reference-photo surcharge), not the full quoted price. A refusal by the provider, or of the result after it came back, keeps the quoted price — the image was generated.
  • A technical failure — an outage, an undelivered image, a timeout — is refunded in full.
  • Uploads cost nothing, refused or not.

Repeated refusals

  • Three refused requests in a row, or five within 24 hours, pause image creation on the account for 24 hours. A delivered image resets the "in a row" count.
  • A second pause within 30 days lasts 7 days.
  • A third pause within 90 days lasts 7 days and holds the account for a human review, which we complete within 72 hours.
  • A second non-consensual request within a week goes straight to a 7-day pause.
  • Sexual content involving a minor closes the account at once.
  • One account per person. Accounts created to get around a pause, or to collect additional free credits, are closed and their credits are void; we link accounts by registration address, identical prompts, identical reference photos and timing.

While paused you can still download your images, request refunds and appeal.

What we keep

Every refusal is recorded with the account, the time, the gate, the category, the classifier version and a hash of the request — not the prompt or the image. For the two most serious categories we also keep the prompt and the reference photos themselves, in storage no part of the site can reach, for one year (minors) or 90 days (non-consensual), because a hash cannot be reported or reviewed. We disclose these records to law enforcement, to NCMEC, and to our payment and model providers when the law or their terms require it. Registration IP addresses and browser details are kept to detect accounts created to evade a restriction.

Report or appeal

Use the support form to report content or, while signed in to a restricted account, to appeal. We answer appeals within 7 days; a pause of 24 hours simply expires. If we agree a refusal was wrong, the credits come back. A closure for sexual content involving a minor is not lifted on appeal.
