How it works

  1. Upload the photo as a reference. Up to three references per generation, 3 credits each. Preserving the subject of a reference is exactly what this model generation was improved for, so what you upload is what should come back.
  2. Write the edit as one clear instruction. "Replace the background with a plain warm-grey studio wall, keep the product, the shadow and the framing" works. "Make it better" does not — the model has no way to know which better you mean.
  3. Edit again on the result. Multi-turn editing holds up better in the 2.5 generation than it did before, so a second and third pass on the same image is a reasonable way to work rather than a gamble.

What to put in the prompt

Name what stays, not just what changes. This is the single highest-leverage habit in prompt editing. "Change only the jacket; keep the pose, the face and the background" gives the model a boundary to respect.

One change per pass. Three instructions in one prompt tend to be met with three compromises. Run three passes instead. Each pass is a fresh generation carrying your image as a reference, so at 1K Standard it is 3 credits plus 3 for the reference — 6 a pass, 18 for three.

Describe the destination, not the operation. Say what the photo should look like afterwards rather than which tool to imitate. "Overcast daylight, soft shadows" beats "reduce contrast and lower the highlights".

Check faces, hands and fine text. These are the parts most likely to drift in an edit. If a label or a hand changed when you did not ask it to, say so explicitly in the next pass.

Keep the original. Every pass is a new generation, not a change to the file you uploaded. Your original is never overwritten, so you can always go back and start the edit differently.

Questions

Does it edit my photo, or make a new one?

It generates a new image using yours as a reference. Your upload is never modified, and the result is a separate file — which is also why a result can differ from the original in ways you did not ask for. Check before you use it.

Can I edit photos of people?

You can edit photos you have the right to use, and only in ways the person would accept. Sexualised edits of anyone are refused, and any attempt to sexualise a minor results in permanent account action. Editing an ordinary photograph that includes a child is not what that rule is aimed at. Do not upload other people without their consent.

What does an edit cost?

The base image price — 3 credits at 1K Standard up to 40 at 4K High — plus 3 credits for each reference photo you attach. Every pass is quoted before you commit, and failed generations are refunded.

Why did something change that I did not mention?

Because each pass is a fresh generation built from your photo rather than a surgical edit of it. The 2.5 models are tuned to hold the parts you did not ask about, but they are not a guarantee. Naming what must stay — the pose, the logo, the framing — is what keeps a pass on target.
