How it works

  1. Upload the product as a reference. One clear photo is enough — a phone shot on a table works. GPT Image 2.5 is built to preserve the subject of a reference across new settings, so what you upload is what appears in the result. Up to three references per image.
  2. Describe the shot, not the product. The reference already says what the product looks like. Spend the prompt on the surface, the background, the light and the camera: "on a slate slab, soft window light from the left, 50mm, shallow depth of field".
  3. Pick the ratio, generate, iterate. Choose 1:1 for marketplaces, 4:5 for feeds, 3:2 or 16:9 for a hero. Run on Flare while you explore the scene, then switch to Sunburst for the version that ships.

What to put in the prompt

Name the surface and the light first. The two things that make a product photo look expensive are the surface it sits on and where the light comes from. "Matte black stone, single soft light from upper left, gentle falloff" does more than any adjective.

Keep the label readable. Say "label facing camera, text legible" when the packaging carries copy. GPT Image 2.5 renders text well, but it needs to be told the label matters.

Use real camera language. "85mm, f/2.8, eye-level" is understood. It sets the perspective and the depth of field more reliably than "professional photo".

One product per prompt. Sets come from repeating the prompt with a different scene, not from asking for six products at once. Consistency across the set comes from the same reference.

Does the AI change my product?

It is built not to. GPT Image 2.5 was designed to preserve the subject of a reference photo across new settings, and the Studio sends your photo with every generation. Fine print and tiny logos are the parts most likely to drift, so check them and regenerate if needed.

What does an AI product photo cost?

The same as any image on ShimmerPic: from 3 credits for 1K Standard to 40 for 4K High, plus 3 credits per reference photo and a small surcharge for prompts over 500 bytes. The Studio quotes the exact number before you generate. New accounts get 6 free credits; there is no separate product-photography plan and no per-model surcharge.

Can I get several angles of the same product?

You can ask for a new angle, and the model will produce a plausible one, but it is generating, not rotating a 3D scan. For angles the reference does not show, upload a second reference from that side.

Which model should I use for product photos?

Flare to explore scenes quickly, Sunburst for the final image — in our side-by-side runs Sunburst added more surface detail. Both cost the same credits.
